No, Take-Two Didn't Announce a GTA 6 PC Version — That 'New Statement' Doesn't Exist

Claims that Take-Two issued a fresh statement on a GTA 6 PC release are circulating this week — but the statement can't be found, Take-Two's press feed is clean, and Rockstar's official page still lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Rumor check: this week, claims began circulating that Take-Two Interactive had issued a fresh public statement about a GTA 6 PC release. We went looking for the statement. It isn't there — and neither is the reporting it supposedly came from.

According to a detailed check by sinfulshadows, Take-Two's public press-release feed through September 2026 contains no GTA 6 PC announcement. The most recent items concern the company's annual meeting webcast, NBA 2K27, Zynga Poker, and Q1 FY2027 results. The GTA VI pre-order announcement on Take-Two's own investor site mentions no PC platform at all.

The secondary coverage is in worse shape. Articles on the subject attributed to IGN, Eurogamer, Dexerto, Insider Gaming, GTA BOOM, and Sportskeeda were all dead links when checked. The only remaining trace of the supposed coverage is a GameRant piece that amounts to a scraped byline and boilerplate rather than sourced reporting. Several of the IR news and press-release URLs cited in secondary coverage returned 404 errors. In short: there is no verifiable new statement, and we won't report the contents of one we can't confirm.

What is actually confirmed

Rockstar's official GTA VI page lists only PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S — unchanged. What CEO Strauss Zelnick has said on the record is narrower than the rumor mill suggests. At the Interactive Innovation Conference in Las Vegas, asked about the console-first launch strategy, he told Bloomberg (via VGC) that "Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that, you're judged by serving the core," adding that if the core consumer isn't served first and best, "you kind of don't hit your other consumers." He also denied that the approach stems from any exclusivity deal: "Historically, Rockstar's gone to console first."

His often-quoted line that "eventually, all of Take-Two Interactive's major titles become available on all systems" is general strategy talk — not a GTA 6 PC confirmation, and not new.

The historical pattern

Rockstar's track record is why the PC question keeps coming up. Grand Theft Auto V reached PC nearly two years after its console launch, GTA IV took about eight months, Red Dead Redemption 2 took just over a year, and the original Red Dead Redemption took 14 years. A PC version of GTA 6 remains likely in the long run — but as of September 21, 2026, it is unannounced, undated, and no Take-Two statement has changed that.
